I bought a history curriculum that I am thrilled with. It gives me ideas for hands on activities and extra books and such. I need the extra help because I simply hate history. So I have a very hard time teaching it to my children. Even with the great curriculum I have.

Hunter asked me about The Great Depression the other day. Sad to say, I do not know much about it. So, I thought we would do some research and both learn. However, this adds an extra lesson to our already hectic days and I found myself putting it off. Then light dawned on marble head!

I don't have to do a cover to cover lesson. Who needs to learn about Nomads andyway. When something interrests us...Just do it! If you are interrested about something you are going to take it in more and you are going to enjoy doing it.
So, that is my lesson for the day. Hope you can learn from it too. There is no need to be depressed about learning about The Great Depression by doing it when the book says to. Learn it when your child says it's time to! Learn when it's time to learn.
